Recently, I’ve noticed a new holiday popping up, Galentine’s Day, and I had no clue what it was or meant. Confession, my initial thought was that it was for the guys (hahaha), but yesterday I decided to actually look it up and found it very interesting and right up my alley. I learned Galentine’s Day is celebrated on February 13th, the day before Valentine’s Day to celebrate all your female friends. Apparently, it was made up by a character on a TV show called Parks and Recreation. Each year on this day the character of this show explains that she and her friends leave their husbands and boyfriends to go hang together; ladies celebrating ladies.
As you know I’m all about cherishing the friendships you have especially with the females in your life. These relationships help us thrive as women. With my girls, I’m able to laugh until I can’t breathe, be my true self, share my thoughts and desires, and not feel judged at all. As women, we need each other. I’m sure some wouldn’t agree, but I know what my friendships with my girls have been to me. So on this holiday, share love, get together with your girls, hang out, laugh and just have fun! And even if you can’t get together be sure to pick up the phone and let them know how much your friendship means to you. Make it a great day!
