During difficult times, prayer is a necessity. It is needed whether you are praying yourself through difficult times or praying for someone else that is going through. With the recent passing of Kobe Bryant, his daughter and the other 7 that were killed in a helicopter accident. I thought today’s post would be a good opportunity to just pray.
Many people believe that in prayer it has to be long and extensive, which is great, but there are some times a simple prayer will get you through, especially when you need God to move quickly. Colossians 4:2 NIV says to “devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful,” and 1Thessalonians 5:17 NIV says to “pray continually.” We know prayer is essential to our daily living but even more in times of trouble.
Our Prayer for Today:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you! We could focus on all the things that are going on in our lives, but right now at this moment, we want to say thank you. Thank you for keeping us and for your word, which leads and guides us in our lives. Thank you also for the lives of those that have recently passed. We are grateful you shared them with us and that their legacies will continue even in their physical absence.
We ask you to help us through difficult times, whether its the loss of loved ones or just struggles in life. I specifically ask for you to bless each person reading this blog post, meet every need. We thank you that during difficult times we know we can come to you because your Word tells us, “you will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.”
Forgive us for our sins, the things we have done knowingly and unknowingly. We are grateful that you are a forgiving God. Help us to forgive others as you forgive us for we know that this is a requirement for you forgiving us. Order our steps on this day. Lead us as you will have us to go through this day.
In the name of your son, Jesus, Amen!
