God speaks! He speaks constantly, many times he speaks, but we can’t hear him through all the noise around us or our inability to stay still and quiet. There are also times when he speaks through people. The last few days, I’ve heard several reminders to watch my words. I was listening to Get Up with Erica Campbell and she was sharing her Ericaism, which talked about choosing our words wisely with our children. Our words can and will mold them into who they will be. Connection Check
I was listening to my pastor preach on Sunday and he mentioned how we are to build each other up. In that moment. I began to think of my current circles. I’m truly grateful for my friends and family, they are encouraging and often push me to stretch myself. Later that evening, as I participated in a book club, I thought of connections again. As I was driving on my commute yesterday, the song “Love Theory” by Kirk Franklin came on. I love this song but yesterday was different. As I listened, I began to think about people and how they sometimes can be unpredictable, unreliable, selfish, unforgiving, and filled with hidden agendas. But God is nothing like that. He is reliable, dependable, forgiving, and always loving. I mean, he literally had a whole book written just to help us navigate through life and provide us with answers and hope. He did all of that for us thousands of years ago. Who wouldn’t want to serve a God like him? Often as we go…
