    Know Your Roots

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of celebrating the legacy of my grandparents with my cousins. Last week, my grandparents would have been turned 100 years old and in honor of their legacy, we created a documentary spotlighting each of them. It was a wonderful experience; I was able to learn so much about them through the stories of others. Why was that so big for me you ask? It’s Okay to Ask for Help!

A moment of transparency *sigh*, I do not like asking for help! There, I said it! Lol. Now, there are times when I feel a little better when asking: 1) I’m asking someone to whom I am close to or comfortable with, 2) I absolutely have to (I suck it up). The other day I used my mom’s password to get into her account and I instantly thought of the word, access. Our passwords, passcodes, etc give us access to our devices and accounts. Because I had the correct password for my mom’s account I was granted access. As Christians, we often forget about the access we have. Through the word of God we have access to His wisdom and because of this access we are able to overcome obstacles,…

    Perseverance Brings Reward

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of going to a grape stomping event; there I was able to stomp grapes and pick them off the vine. I was extremely excited to have this experience. I had seen the episode of I love Lucy many times before when Lucy went to go stomp grapes at a vineyard in Italy. I love that episode. Ever since watching it, I’ve wanted to stomp grapes just like Lucy. As I put my feet down into the grapes, the initial feeling was slimy, not fun. But it was the experience right? As I began to “stomp” the grapes I realized it’s not as easy…
