Last night I had the pleasure of attending an On the Come Up author’s event. It was a great experience; I’m thankful I was able to attend! At the event, I was able to learn from a panel of authors about their book writing process, inspiration, and favorite books to read. In addition to that information, it was great to just connect with positive females. In addition to the panel of authors, there were vendors, spoken word, and a drummer. What does it mean to be a father? Dictionary.com defines it as a male parent. I would hope that it is more to it than just that. Everyone has their own interpretation of what a father is, which usually is based on experiences. My experience of a father could be described by the following words, responsible, loving, giving, respectful, respected, diligent, understanding, and humble. There is a gospel song that is out now entitled, Forever, by Jason Nelson. When I tell you I absolutely love this song! Initially hearing the song, it was just another nice song, but one day as I was riding in the car and I began to really listen to the lyrics. Confidence Booster
I recently had the pleasure to go see the movie, I Feel Pretty. Definitely a chick flick, but very good with a great message. There was one point in the movie, in which she questioned her abilities based on her looks, thinking people would question her because of how she looked. As a woman, I have struggled with insecurities and a lack of confidence.
