Last weekend, I had the pleasure of seeing the movie, Harriett. Great movie, if you have not already seen it, I suggest you go see it. As I was leaving out of the theater, I was in such deep thought. I was greatly compelled to take notes from the movie and apply it to my life. One quote in the movie that stood out the most to me was, “fear is your enemy.” Many times we allow fear to get in the way of our success. Surrender
Yesterday was a good day. I went to see the movie, Breakthrough, great movie I recommend. Then I came home and watched Being Mary Jane, which I enjoyed as well. In watching both the show and movie, there was a point in which the characters of both realized the importance of just letting go of control. In a past blog post, I talked about understanding what God has for you, is for you and not trying to control or manipulate things to benefit yourself. It’s Working For My Good!
When I was growing up I’ve always had a sense of what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to be a nurse since the fourth grade. I had my life planned out; after graduating from high school, I would go off to college to receive my degree in nursing, then move to Charlotte and work at one of the hospitals. I would be married by 24, first child by 26, and second (last child, smile) by 28. My husband and I would travel and see the world. I was driving home from a concert the other night and as I was driving I followed the signs, but there was one point I began to question where I was going because it didn’t look right. I had driven this same road several times before but at this one point it didn’t seem like I was on the right road. I pulled out my GPS to ensure I was going on he right path, but the directions didn’t pull up fast enough. I then saw another sign that indicated I was on the right track.
