Have you ever been tapped out? Like you had nothing else to give? I’m sure we’ve all felt this way at some point in our lives. There have been many times when Wednesday come and I’m suppose to post a blog and I’m like, “I’ve got nothing.” But most times, God brings a thought to my mind, just as he did today. It’s been a rough couple weeks but as God always does, be provided. I’m sure he has done the same for you. While your situation wasn’t content for your blog or grief, it could of been insufficient funds for a bill, feelings of defeat, confusion, indecisiveness as to the next step in your life, and so many other things, but God provided. And how he provides is different in each situation. For me, this morning, I had nothing to write for the blog today because I felt tapped out, I had no more to give. But God shared something in my spirit, just write how you feel. And then he sent a reminder in my devotion about seeking him through His word. The same could be true for you, perhaps an unexpected check came and it helped you with your bill or your income taxes hit your bank account or God just sent an encouraging word through someone or in His word. God always provides!
In times when we feel depleted and empty, we must remember to go to God, seek him through his word and prayer. It is in those times, he will pour into you and sometimes there will be an overflow for you to share with others. Like for me this morning, God blessed me through my devotion and scripture; it reminded me that He was my source and as long as I focus and stay connected to Him, he will give me everything that I need. The overflow came and I was able to share through my blog. I just love it when God works everything thing out. Let this be a reminder to you and me, when you are feeling empty, go back to the source, read his word and pray to him. He is a provider, he will give you what you need. Don’t forget to make this day great! What’s your scripture for today? Here is my scripture, Psalms 23.
“The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
